Elders Action Network Town Hall Meeting

Sep 18 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am PDT

All-Hands-on-Deck GOTV Town Hall Meeting

Wednesday, September 18
10:00 – 11:30 am PT / 1:00 – 2:30 pm ET

EAN GOTV Town Hall – Do something & do it now!

Please join us to hear Andrea Miller, the Founding Board Member and Executive Director of The Center for Common Ground, who will speak about how the Center collaborates with local partners to educate and empower voters of color to engage them in elections. The Center is a nonpartisan, Black, and women-led voting rights organization founded in 2018, working in voter suppression states where more than 20% of voters are voters of color – Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Texas.

The Center for Common Ground has inclusive and effective messaging and an impressive history of improving voter turnout. The meeting will feature EAN’s partnership with the Center’s Reclaim Our Vote Campaign to write postcards to elder Black voters to encourage their participation in Florida.

By this meeting, we’ll have less than seven precious weeks to harness our elders’ power to Get Out the Vote! Following Andrea’s presentation, we will feature other ways each participant can help reach out to voters in the home stretch. We are postcarding, phone banking, and doing media outreach to support carefully selected campaigns reaching key populations in key states. You will meet some of our volunteer organizers and team leaders, who will explain how a few hours of your time can have a significant impact.

In addition to the Founding Board Member of the Center for Common Ground, Andrea Miller is Executive Director of People Demanding Action, Founding President of the National Women’s Political Caucus of Virginia. Andrea is an IT and Political Director and a digital and elections strategist. She designs and administers digital phone banks and texting programs. From 2013 to 2015, she led the Progressive Round Table on Capitol Hill, bringing together members of Congress, activists, and non-profit leaders. Her expertise is in voting rights, climate, and the Equal Rights Amendment. She has successfully advocated for legislation on both the Federal and State level. In 2008 she was the Democratic nominee for the Virginia 4th Congressional district.
