10:00 – 11:30 am PT / 1:00 – 2:30 pm ET

Mobilizing Young Voters

Please join us as we kick off our Promote the Youth Vote efforts for 2026 with Laura Brill, founder and CEO of The Civics Center

Fifty million young people (ages 18-29) can be the difference in restoring our democracy–if, of course, they choose to turn out.

Laura Brill will describe how, with help from The Civics Center, we can contribute toward helping young voters become lifelong voters by “making voter registration part of every American High School experience.” Research confirms that 75-85% of 18-year-olds registered to vote have consistently voted in presidential election years over the last 25 years! The Civics Center promotes young voter mobilization by supporting student-led and educator-advised voter registration drives in high schools across the country. ESD has proudly supported their initiatives for several years.

During the session, we will highlight:

  • The new alliance between The Civics Center and the League of Women Voters.

  • Creative approaches ESD elders have used to successfully engage high schools in sponsoring student-led voter registration drives.

  • Additional programs identified by the Youth Voting Action Team with demonstrated success in increasing young voter turnout and civic engagement.

Join us to learn how we can support the programs and youth civic engagement.

After registering, you will receive an email from Zoom (no-reply@zoom.us) with a unique link to join the event. Please check your email inbox.
