Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)

Smart Giving for Retirement Account Holders

If you're 70½ or older, you may be able to transfer funds directly from your IRA to Elders Action Network through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). This strategy offers significant tax advantages:

Pre-tax transfer – Funds transferred directly to EAN do not count as taxable income
Satisfies RMD requirements – Your charitable gift counts toward your Required Minimum Distribution without increasing your taxable income
Potential tax savings – Reducing your taxable income may lower your tax bracket and preserve tax benefits
Works with standard deduction – You receive the tax benefit even if you claim the standard deduction

Contact your IRA custodian and request a direct charitable distribution to Elders Action Network (Tax ID: 46-4569152). We recommend consulting with your financial advisor to determine if this strategy is right for your situation.
