Political Corruption Action Team

The Political Corruption Action Team closely monitors threats to our democracy, tracking new developments, uncovering troubling trends, and highlighting effective strategies for reform and action.

Forms of political corruption that we actively monitor include:

  • Corporate funding of political campaigns for national, state, and local offices

  • Legislative decisions linked to contributions by wealthy donors, notably on voting rights

  • The work of lobbying groups pushing for the adoption of anti-democratic legislation

  • Unfavorable actions by companies and private groups, notably violations of civil rights

Team members research emerging issues and develop recommendations for action. Much of our analysis builds upon the outstanding work of our partner organizations, including Indivisible, People Power United, Mobilize, the Brennan Center for Justice, RepresentUs, and the ACLU.

Together, we transform reliable research into informed action, and regularly share our findings through ESD newsletters, community meetings, and timely action alerts.

If you care deeply about integrity in government, reach out to Jeff Johnson and join us in this vital work!
