Deep Adaptation – Navigating the Realities of Climate Chaos by Jem Bendell & Rupert Read
Every other Monday beginning January 3, 2022
9:00 – 10:30 am PT / 12:00 – 1:30 pm ET
Three years after his 2018 article on ‘deep adaptation’, which went viral (more than 1 million downloads), Jem Bendell co-edited this essential book which includes chapters by Joanna Macy, Jonathan Gosling, Charlotte Simpson and others. ‘Deep adaptation’ refers to the personal and collective changes that might help us to prepare for – and live with – a climate-influenced breakdown or collapse of our societies. The authors demonstrate the caring and creative ways that people are responding to the most difficult realization with which humanity may ever have to come to terms. Elders for Regenerative Living is using this book as a key source of inspiration for the design of its upcoming Regenerative Elder Program.
About the Book Study Group
Now in our fourth year, between 20 and 30 avid readers meet every two weeks via Zoom to discuss. We choose books with depth and relevance to issues of the day.
Book Study Group guidelines are simple:
- Add your name to the Book Study Group mailing list (if not already on it) by signing up here.
- Read the chapters and bring your thoughts to the next meeting.
- Register for the meetings via Zoom (using the REGISTER button below). After registering, Zoom will send you a unique link to join the series of meetings. Do not share the link, it is unique to you.
