In an era of increasing skepticism and polarization around elections, fostering trust in the electoral process has become paramount for the health of our democracy. Elders Action Network is hosting an event that will provide participants with the opportunity to join others in a facilitated conversation to explore questions like:

  • What do you see as the benefits or dangers of trusting people? Institutions? Media?
  • How do you define trust in elections and how do you experience it? Has it shifted over time? What could inspire more trust in elections for you?
  • When you think about our voting practices, what hopes and concerns do you have for building trust in our electoral process?

Participants who are willing to participate in the conversation and complete a pre and post survey are eligible to receive a Starbucks gift card.

Trust is the cornerstone of democracy. When citizens trust that their voices will be heard and their votes will be counted fairly, they are more likely to engage in the democratic process and accept the outcomes, even when their preferred candidates or policies do not prevail.
